'I'm not a one-night-stand kind of girl': Nina Dobrev opens up about her break-up with Vampire Diaries costar Ian Somerhalder and hanging with best friend Julianne Hough
She's sought the comfort of her best friend Julianne Hough since her split with Ian Somerhalder in May.
And while the Dancing With The Stars pro has been going through a break-up of her own -- splitting earlier this year with Ryan Seacrest -- Nina Dobrev insists that they've bonded over more than their failed romances.
'That's not what our friendship is about. Unfortunately, that's how it's perceived, but there's more to us,' she reveals to Cosmopolitan.
'We don't talk about make-up; we talk about life.'
The 24-year-old posed for the cover of the September issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, opening up about redefining herself after her break-up with her Vampire Diaries co-star.

'People aren't defined by their relationships. The whole point is being true to yourself and not losing yourself in relationships, whether romances or friendships,' she said.
As she works to move on from her former Vampire Diaries beau, Nina revealed she has an 'old fashioned' sensibility when it comes to dating.
'A lot of what attracts me is a guy's mind and humour and talent,' she said about her perfect mate.
'A man in a suit looking put together and dapper is very attractive, but I also link of like the I-just-rolled-out-of-bed, a-little-bit-of-scruff, effortless, not-trying-hard-but-still-sexy guy.'
She continued: 'I need to know all those things before I fall for someone. I'm not a one-night-stand king of girl. I'm a relationship girl.'

In her sultry spread the brunette beauty makes a big splash on the cover in bouncy summery curls, her enviable figure hugged by a houndstooth print mini dress.
Inside the pages she frolics around a riverbed in high couture, looking simply stunning as she poses alongside a calm river in a black mini dress with a long orange taffeta skirt and tall black boots.
The former Degrassi actress credits her enviable figure to a love for fitness -- especially yoga.
'I want to open my own yoga studio,' she revealed, spilling details about her new pet project. 'Yoga changed my life.'
'Planning construction and looking at properties is fun. I'm using a different part of my brain.'

When she's not busy working on her pet projects, the Canadian born star is gearing up for her return to the small screen in the fifth season of Vampire Diaries this fall.
Despite an putting an end to her three year relationship with Somerhalder, their on-screen characters only saw their sparks fly last season and will continue to blossom in upcoming episodes.
Executive producer Caroline Dries revealed that the next season of the show will see them 'being genuinely happy for a little while because Damon has fought so hard to be with Elena.'
She told Celebuzz.com: 'We kind of want to go against the grain, and make them a happy couple without bickering and fighting every episode but actually make their relationship suffer from real life issues that come up in normal people relationships and make it less about mythological conflicts.'
