They are two rising stars of the big screen.
And what better way to get an insight into the acting industry of today than to hear the thoughts of Freida Pinto and Michelle Dockery as they give a speech on The Creativity Of Acting at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday.
The talk is part of a series orchestrated by sister label of Milanese power brand Prada, Miu Miu, who have called their body of work Women's Tales, and also includes two short films.

The pair had already attended the screening of the two new films from the Women's Tales project on August 29 at the festival.
But now its was the girls' turn to shine, and they both were dressed to impress in Venice, Freida in a fitted pink dress with white collar and patent round-toe heels with a diamante heels.
The Slumdog Millionaire star chose to scrape back her raven locks into a ponytail whilst opting for simple make-up, some black eyeliner and dark pink lip shimmer.

The Downton Abbey star let her alabaster skin shine through in the dark outfit, accentuated by her brunette bob, black eyeliner and deep red lipstick.
The pair looked calm and composed as they arrived at the press conference for Miu Miu's Women Tales.

In a press release, Miu Miu revealed that Women’s Tales was born from 'the need to stimulate reflection on women’s experiences in all aspects of the film industry.'
The first film to be aired was by Palestinian actress Hiam Abbass, who made her directorial debut at last year’s Venice Days with 'Inheritance,' will present her new film 'Le Donne delle Vucciria,' set in the city of Palermo.
The second came in the form of Ava DuVernay, the first African-American woman to win an award for Best Director at Sundance, who showcased 'The Door,' a celebration of powerful bonds between women.

Miu Miu Women’s Tales decided to feature a series of talks on August 30 and August 31, where leading women in film participated in dialogue, and compered by journalist and filmmaker Monica Maggioni.
Taking the stage before Freida and Michelle, directors Hiam Abbass and Ava DuVernay entered into a 'face off' against actors Gabrielle Union and Roberto Zibetti in a conversation on directing called 'The Creativity of Seeing.'
Following this Jules Daly, the producer of 'The Door,' and Sue Kroll, President of Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution for Warner Bros. Pictures, discussed production in 'The Creativity of Producing.'

Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery stands out at Venice Film Festival in red dress and her sleek dark bob

Well, she is a Lady: Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery stands out at Venice Film Festival in red dress and her sleek dark bob

She's known to most as Lady Mary Crawley on hit period drama Downton Abbey.
But there was nothing dated about actress Michelle Dockery's look on Thursday when she arrived at the Venice Film Festival.
In fact she stood out thanks to her vibrant red frock and super sleek bob which looked like it had been dyed darker.

It could be that she's altered her hair ready for the upcoming new series of the show.
But either way she stunned as she walked out on to the red carpet at the Miu Miu party.
She even accessorised to perfection, holding a small black clutch bag and matching high heels which accentuated her long legs.

Michelle wore minimal make-up as she showed off her natural beauty while rubbing shoulders with the likes of Carey Mulligan at the bash.
Carey wore a pair of quirky tortoise shell frames to the Miu Miu Women's Tales premiere on Thursday alongside Dockery.
Paired with a simple black and white collared dress, the British actress was centre of attention at the fashionable screening.

Carey was lending her star power to the collection of short films made by international female directors in collboration with Miu Miu for the independent film show Venice Days.
Also in attendance was American actress Gabrielle Union, with her boyfriend, Miami Heat basketball player Dwayne Wade.
Gabrielle and Dwayne have been together since 2007, and they looked loved up as ever as they took to the Venice red carpet at the 70th international film festival.

Dame Kiri reduces Downton Abbey cast and crew to tears as she performs on set… playing show's first real character Dame Nellie Melba

    By FAY STRANG
    PUBLISHED: 12:02, 14 August 2013 | UPDATED: 13:28, 14 August 2013

She is considered to be one of the world’s foremost sopranos, who has won resounding praise for her ‘warm’ voice.
So it’s no surprise that Dame Kiri Te Kanawa was asked to appear in Downton Abbey as the show’s first real character – opera singer Dame Nellie Melba.
And in her first appearance in character, her dulcet tones reduced both cast and crew members to tears when she stepped into the role of one of the most famous singers of the late Victorian era for her cameo.

The New Zealand born opera singer performs two pieces as the well-loved Victorian singer, during a house party thrown by the Earl of Grantham in the fourth series of the popular ITV show, which is set to hit the high notes when it begins again next month.
Downton producer Gareth Neame revealed her appearance on set really was a sight to behold – causing everyone to drop tools to hear her sing.
Speaking at the season launch on Tuesday, he said: ‘It was the sight of all these tough electricians and grips and all the people you see on a film set with tears in their eyes and wiping a tear away. It was quite a special day.’

It seems it was also a big day for the singer who admitted that she ‘nearly choked’ when she was asked to take part in the huge show and once on set she found it ‘exciting but frightening’ to be amongst such an established cast.
She said: 'I could not say yes fast enough, it was the most wonderful experience. It's very delicate, very special and beautifully written.’
The role couldn’t have been more perfect for Dame Kiri, who performs Giacomo Puccini's O Mio Babbino Caro and Antonin Dvorak's Songs My Mother Taught Me, because she has always had an interested in the Victorian singer and her career.

And in preparation for her brief but prominent cameo, which will see her have a few lines in conversation with Branson and the Earl of Grantham, she did a little research in order to stay true to the character.
Speaking about Dame Nellie, she said: ‘I had a log sheet of all the performances she did and saw how much she earned and how many roles she played. Her wage for one year would have been about £3 million in today's money.’
She continued: ‘Songs My Mother Taught Me was one of her favourite songs and she performed it everywhere. We've got a recording of her doing it so we tried to copy it and it's very beautifully done and very special so we had to put that one in.

'I was trying to stay true to the character because as Julian Fellowes said 'she's the only true character' that actually lived.’
And it seems the show will stay with her for many years to come as she decided to name one of her dogs Abbey.
But she did point out that Lady Carnarvon, who owns Highclere, wouldn’t allow her to bring her two dogs on set because one of the homeowner's dogs – a Labrador Percy – doesn’t like having other dogs around.
