Although she's had a successful music career since winning The X Factor, her future seemed uncertain when she parted ways with her record company back in June.

But now Alexandra Burke is set to release an EP of brand new material after signing a management deal with US super league company KWL.

Featuring six exclusive tracks, New Rules will be available to download at the beginning of September and features collaborations with the likes of Wretch 32.

The EP, which will be exclusively available to download on MailOnline 48 hours prior to its general release on August 30, promises to showcase Alexandra's 'sleeker, more sophisticated' sound.

The 24-year-old, who spent much of 2012 trying to launch her career across the pond in the US, is releasing the brand new music as a 'thank you' to the fans who have stuck by her since her X Factor win five years ago.

In a bid to build momentum ahead of the release of her third studio album, which is billed for next year, the EP will showcase the star's new sound.

While Alexandra became known for her catchy pop and R&B songs at the start of her career, she is set to showcase a different set of singing skills later this year as she takes on Lady Sings The Blues in a series of concerts.

Originally scheduled to happen in June, the singer reportedly pushed back the shows due to an 'overwhelming demand' for tickets.

Alexandra was at V Festival over the weekend to catch other people's music, but didn't miss out on the limelight as she celebrated her birthday in the Virgin Media Louder Lounge.

She was presented with a colourful five-tiered cake in front of family and friends as she partied in an unusual kimono-style yellow top.

The star admitted that she had already offered her congratulations to Simon Cowell after it was revealed that he is expecting his first child.

'I wasn't shocked,' she told Heat. 'I think he'll be a stern father. He's going to make a great dad. And I sent my love via Twitter.'

But despite her joy for Simon, romance seems to be the furthest thing from Alexandra's mind as she admitted that she's putting all her energies into her music.

'Music is my main priority right now,' she said. 'Don’t get me wrong – if love wants to come along that’s OK. But I’m not looking for love. I don’t have time to.'

But Rita Ora made sure that she flashed some flesh as she took to the stage at Virgin Media's V Festival on Sunday, wearing a metallic miniskirt and matching cropped top.

The RIP singer added a pair of shiny thigh-high stiletto boots to the look as she bounded around at Hylands Park, Essex.

And the body-confident star certainly didn't seem worried about showing a little skin as her toned stomach was on display in the revealing outfit.

She wore her blonde hair in its trademark curly style, and injected a little colour into the look with a splash of red lipstick, which matched her bright microphone.

The Hot Right Now singer certainly didn't disappoint when it came to her performance, proving just how much energy she has as she jumped around the stage.

After her set, Rita ditched her metallic ensemble in favour of something equally garish as she slipped into a red leopard print trousers and a matching jumper.

Never one to miss out on a party, she was spotted in The Mahiki Coconut Backstage Bar, despite the fact that she's been in hospital with a throat infection just a few days before.

Rita was suffering from a throat infection ahead of the performance, posting pictures from her hospital bed, but clearly didn't want to miss the concert.

The star, who is dating DJ Calvin Harris, admitted backstage that she had a little crush on One Direction star Harry Styles.

'Yeah! But everyone has a crush. I mean, me and the whole music industry probably have a crush on Harry Styles,' she told The Sun.

'Everyone’s acting like it’s a shock but, I’m sorry, I think I’m just the only one admitting it,' she added.

This year's V Festival featured a special collaboration with Cineworld, which became the first major UK cinema chain to bring the cinema experience to a music festival. Guests in the Virgin Media Louder Lounge treated to screenings of a whole host of feel-good movies in a pop-up cinema.

They are both known for their slim figures and their love of fashion.

So it’s no surprise that Pixie Lott and Laura Whitmore decided to showcase their best assets – their legs – as they attended the V Festival on Sunday in Essex.

And while TV presenter Laura unleashed her inner boho babe in a waistcoat and tasselled boots, pop princess Pixie opted for retro vibe as she showed off her pins.

Laura, 28, showed she’s got her festival fashion down as she slipped into a similar outfit as the previous day for her second round of partying.

Looking particularly slim the Irish born star wore a pair of tiny denim shorts and a black crop top which revealed her washboard abs.

Completing her boho vibe she wore the black boots with tasselled edges, which she also wore the day before.

And despite being at a festival her hair looked picture perfect in bouncy curls, while her face looked equally as made up and immaculate. 

Pixie meanwhile looked equally as stylish wearing a pale pink and green pastel two piece consisting of a pair of shorts and little jacket.

Teaming the flower power look with black wellington boots, it was without a doubt the star’s legs which took centre stage at Virgin Media's V Festival.

Laura was also having fun with her pal Gizzi Erskine, who wore a patterned playsuit and her hair in her trademark beehive.

In fact the women were getting along so well they even shared a cheeky kiss as they posed for pictures in between listening to music. 

It wasn’t just Laura and Pixie who showed off their legs – model Jourdan Dunn turned heads with her pins on show.

Cara Delevingne however kept her legs covered up wearing a pair of patterned trousers with a backwards cap.

Once off stage The Saturday’s also dressed to impress with Vanessa White wearing a black crop top with pencil skirt, featuring a fun motif – which appeared to be of Mickey Mouse’s hands.

Mollie King made sure she looked just as sexy walking around as she did on stage – opting for a backless denim jumpsuit.

X Factor star Amelia Lily showed off her fun fashion sense, embracing a rockabilly inspired look including a cardigan featuring Day Of The Dead skulls and a red head band.

It seems the day’s activities may have been a little too much the pretty blonde as a source told the MailOnline that she swiftly fell asleep when she went to watch the Goonies at the pop up Cineworld at the festival.

It was her first UK festival of the year, and Beyoncé made sure she hit the headlines for more than one reason.

The global icon, whose new blonde bob made its debut at V Festival, definitely entertained the crowds but unfortunately not Channel 4 viewers.

The 31-year-old singer sparked controversy by reportedly refusing to allow the broadcast company the rights to film her performance.

Presenters of this year's two-day event, Edith Bowman and Steve Jones referred to the news on air that Beyonce had declined them clearance to show her headline set.

But it wasn't the only news people were talking about as she stormed the headline stage with a blonde blob after a surprise pixie cut, which the superstar informed the world about on her Instagram page.

It made headlines and according to reports, even surprised her hairstylist.

'Changing hair is like changing lipstick or eye shadow for her,' a Beyonce pal told the Daily Beast. 'I think she gets a kick out of how much the press talks about it.’'

Despite a dramatic hair makeover, Beyoncé's on stage style certainly hasn't changed.

The Queen of Pop stole the show as she headlined V Festival on Saturday, dazzling the crowd in a number of racy ensembles.

She wore her new bob sleek and straight as she bounded around the stage in a white leotard, before changing into a black one, while the excited crowd screamed her name.

Clearly pleased with her new haircut, Beyoncé wore it loose and perfectly styled, keeping her make-up light and bright to match her white outfit.

And the star certainly didn't disappoint when it came to her performance at Hylands Park in Essex as thousands of festival-goers turned out just to get a glimpse of her.

After posting an Instagram picture of her new blonde pixie crop last week, the singer had changed it again just a week later, showing off a longer style as she stepped out in Miami on Thursday.

And while Beyoncé was on stage in the UK, her husband Jay Z was still in Miami, spotted partying with Justin Bieber at a nightclub.

She and Jay will be also hitting the stage for his Made In America festival in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania over the Labor Day holiday along with Phoenix, Nine Inch Nails and Solange Knowles.

The concert will wrap up a hectic summer for the Grammy Award-winning pair, that has seen Jay Z touring from coast to coast with JT, and Beyoncé on her Mrs. Carter Show global extravaganza.
