THE RUMOUR: Singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor has signed up for the new series of BBC1's hit Saturday night show Strictly Come Dancing. The 34-year-old Murder on the Dancefloor singer, who is married to The Feeling's bassist Richard Jones, will be hoping to strut her stuff on the Strictly dance floor and impress the voting public after singing a deal rumoured to be worth £25,000.
QUOTE FROM A "SOURCE" WHO PROBABLY DOESN'T EXIST: "Sophie is a great signing. She'll bring her showbiz connections with her as well as some glamour. She is already being touted as one to watch on the dancefloor." (The Sun)
RADIOTIMES.COM TRUTH RATING: 5/5. Apparently the eleventh series of the televised dancing competition coincides with Sophie's new album release this autumn. We've not heard much from the songstress for a while, so a few primetime appearances to help shift stock off the shelves wouldn't go amiss, would they? Plus, we know the lass has an ear formusic, that all important rhythm and the ability to (not kill the) groove (and commit murder) on the dance floor. Have we made that joke too many times now...?
