'Swapping newsroom for ballroom': Susanna Reid replaces her suits with sequins for launch of Strictly Come Dancing

Viewers are used to seeing Susanna Reid looking smart in business wear for her daily stint on the BBC Breakfast sofa.
Tuesday night though saw the presenter ditch her suits for sequins for the launch of Strictly Come Dancing.
The 42-year-old looked gorgeous in her ballroom gown, twirling her way through her big night alongside her fellow Strictly celebs.

The mother of three was dressed in a pretty silver dress which featured a tulle skirt and an a-symmetric bodice studded with an intricate sequin design.
Susanna finished her girly look with a pair of metallic heels and some statement earrings.
The presenter also appeared to have had some hair extensions clipped in, with her long curls tumbling over the shoulders.

The complete ensemble was a far cry from the presenter’s normal work wear which usually consists of smart pencil dresses and blazers for her Monday to Friday stint as co-host of BBC Breakfast.
The presenter has unveiled a more feminine look on the Breakfast sofa in the past year, swapping her previous dowdy suits for pastel colours and smart dresses but covering herself in sparkle and sequins for Strictly is a much more major style leap.

It sounds like Susanna has been relishng the chance to dress up in the famed Strictly costumes though, excitedly telling her Twitter followers ahead of Tuesdays night’s launch at Elstree Studios:
‘Glitter in hair, sequins on dress & butterflies in stomach as I swap newsroom for ballroom. #SCD2013 this Sat.’

The journalist already has some experience on the hit show, impressing the judges when she took part in the Children In Need version of Strictly Come Dancing back in 2011.
Susanna is in for a hectic few months though as she juggles a grueling rehearsal schedule, live weekend shows and her day job on BBC Breakfast, not to mention her life as a mum of three boys.
'She is used to getting up early for her job, but she faces a tough schedule now to fit everything in along with her family life,' a source told The Mirror last month.
Susanna will have the comradery of her fellow celebrity dancers to get her through her busy few weeks though with the likes of Abbey Clancy, Deborah Meaden, Julien Macdonald, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Tony Jacklin and Vanessa Feltz all in pursuit of the Glitterball trophy.
