She adds that the friends she has made in her first year of high school are supportive of her impressive career, and eagerly go and see her movies.
'I was surprised – I was a freshie and you’re grouped with the seniors and you’re new, but it was great,' she said.
'Like when Super 8 came out, they all went to see it and were making fun of me. So it’s cool to have fun with it, too.'
Elle was styled by Kanye West's muse Christine Centenera for the shoot, and wears a Givenchy sweater printed with a Bambi-like motif on the cover.

Charming: The whole Miss Vogue Australia team could not speak highly enough of Elle
Ms Centenera told the Miss Vogue website that Elle was a delight to work with.
'Elle's energy, spirit, and ability to captivate an entire crew is something I've not come across in the 12 years I've spent working in magazine,' she said. 'Everyone on set fell in love; she was remarkable and she makes us all want to be 15 again.'
The magazine's editor, Alice Cavanagh, also spoke highly of the teen star.
'I fell in love with this genuine and uniquely stylish young person when I interviewed her in LA,' she said. 'She is even more likeable – if that is possible - in person.'
The interview also saw Elle discuss Maleficent co-star Angelina Jolie, who she says she 'loved so much.'

She said: 'The way she treated everyone was so "normal" – ah, "normal" is such a bad word, but you know? She was just every day.'
She also described the childhood play-acting that inspired her mother to get her and sister Dakota, 19, involved in the movie business in the first place.
'I guess my mum saw us playing around the house and creating these really in-depth characters. My sister was older so she would always be the mum and I would be her kid,' she said.
'We would pretend we were homeless people and move around the house as though we were looking for shelter – we would always end up in the pantry. My parents would be like, "What are they doing in the pantry?" and we'd be shivering, completely in character.'
